Sand Key is a 95 acre barrier island that lies just south of beautiful Clearwater Beach. Just take Gulf Boulevard from Clearwater Beach over the Clearwater Pass Bridge to enter the elegant strip of Sand Key. Sand Key is less than a mile wide with many residential high rise condominiums, townhouses and single family homes. On the North end of Sand Key there are many activities that include a variety of restaurants, sailing lessons, shopping and tourist services. The west side of Sand Key is all beach, perfect for a day spent swimming and snorkeling in the Gulf, relaxing in a lounge chair or a long walk while taking in an amazing sunset at the end of the day. Sand Key is also the home of a US Coast Guard station and has its own County Park. The Sand Key Park provides both park and beach areas to rest and relax in. The Park is the perfect place to picnic with picnic tables, grills, water fountains, restrooms and a playground for children. There is also a section of the park that welcomes dogs. Sand Key Park has its very own dog park. The beach offers amenities such as docks that lead to the beach from the park, cabana rentals and an on duty lifeguard. The Sand Key Park beach is annually used by The Clearwater Aquarium sea turtles who deposit their eggs for nesting their young. Sand Key is a great place to call home! |
